My name is Ashley M. Barrera. I am a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Anchorage, Alaska. I work with individuals, couples and families to strengthen their relationships so that they may lead happier and more fulfilling lives. My clinical areas of specialization include; dating and cohabiting relationships, marriage, separation, divorce, remarriage, and blended family therapy.
I have a Master of Science from Iowa State University where I studied Couple/Marriage and Family Therapy. Prior to receiving my masters degree in 2011, I studied Psychology at the University of Alaska Anchorage where I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in 2009.
In addition to my clinical practice I also work in the field of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) where I strive to support the healthy resolution of conflict between individuals, couples, and families. As a Collaborative Law professional, I assist couples in their effort to divorce with dignity and place the needs of their children first. As a C0-Parenting Facilitator or Parent Coordinator I work with divorced or separated parents to successfully navigate the transition toward working together as co-parenting partners in the best interests of their children, which can be a very challenging task when also managing the painful end of a romantic relationship.
